Mike Kane is an editorial, commercial, and documentary photographer in Seattle, whose mission with image-making has always been to tell stories. At age 19, teaching English in northern Nicaragua, his mom's old Nikon FG allowed him to see a world so different from home he could scarcely believe it. The magic of sharing those images, and the stories they told, was something he'll never forget.
After a good run as a newspaper staffer, Mike became a freelancer in Seattle and now works with foundations, businesses, corporations, nonprofits, and award winning publications the world over. His pictures have been recognized by various national photo competitions, the Nieman Foundation at Harvard, the Poynter Institute, the Duke Center for Documentary Studies, and nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.
Mike's best connections with clients happen when there's belief and authenticity in the story to be told, and trust that Mike will find it.
